Kevin Pietersen has hit an unbeaten triple century for Surrey against Leicestershire in the County Championship as his push for an England recall continues.
The batsman's heroics helped his side move on to 528-9 at the close of play at The Oval, giving them a lead of 236.
Pietersen ended the day with a career-best 326 not out, which came off 431 balls and included 34 fours and 14 sixes.
The 34-year-old's exploits are likely to dominate tomorrow's press conference held by Andrew Strauss, who was recently appointed the new director of England cricket.
Pietersen has not represented England since he was sacked by the ECB for his alleged poor conduct during the 2013-14 Ashes campaign in Australia.
