Patrick Lefevere: 'Mark Cavendish likely to leave Etixx - Quick-Step'

Etixx - Quick-Step manager Patrick Lefevere expects Mark Cavendish to leave the team at the end of the season.

Etixx - Quick-Step manager Patrick Lefevere has said that there is a "90% chance" that Mark Cavendish will leave the team at the end of the season.

Cavendish's existing deal expires before the end of 2015, and Lefevere has revealed that the two parties are not currently in negotiations about extending the British's rider stay at the Belgian team.

Lefevere told Cycling News: "I think that it's a 90% chance that he leaves us. I have not met his agent since the Tour and there is no contract on the table."

Cavendish, who has registered 44 wins for Etixx - Quick-Step, has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming UCI World Road Race Championships.
