Stage winner Luke Rowe has praised the support that he and his fellow riders received during the opening leg of the Tour of Britain earlier today.
The competitors set off from Ipswich this morning before going on to negotiate a route that stretched 126.2 miles to the Norfolk County Showground just outside of Norwich.
When asked about the crowd at a press conference attended by Sports Mole, 22-year-old Rowe replied: "It was pretty incredible. I've raced ten years around the world and I've genuinely never seen crowds like that or never raced in crowds like that.
"You look at their faces and they are so passionate. They are not just there shouting any old thing. They are simply passionate and nice fans and it is good see."
Rowe claimed the victory after Team Sky teammate Mark Cavendish was involved in a crash around 1km from the finish line.
