Sir Bradley Wiggins insists that he is ready to challenge for his first road world title in Italy.

Sir Bradley Wiggins believes that he is capable of challenging for his first road world title in Italy today.

The 33-year-old heads into the time trial following his victory at the Tour of Britain last Sunday.

"I'm as prepared as I'll ever be for a time trial," BBC Sport quotes Wiggins as saying. "I feel good, just focused and ready to go."

Wiggins won an Olympic gold medal and was crowned the first Brit to win the Tour de France in 2012.
