Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczesny are set to make their World Cup debuts after being named in Poland's 35-man preliminary squad for Russia.

Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczesny are set to make their World Cup debuts after being included in Poland's preliminary squad.

Head coach Adam Nawalka has named 35 players in his squad as the nation prepares for its first finals appearance since 2006.

Bayern Munich star Lewandowski has scored 52 goals in 93 Poland appearances, but has never played at the World Cup.

Juventus goalkeeper Szczesny, Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik and veteran midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski are also on the list for the finals in Russia.

Poland will play pre-tournament friendlies with Chile on June 8 and Lithuania four days later before facing Senegal, Colombia and Japan in Group H.
