Agent: 'Angel di Maria can prove fitness for World Cup final'

Angel di Maria's representative claims that the Argentina midfielder is desperate to win his battle to be fit for the World Cup final.

The agent of Angel di Maria has insisted that the Argentina midfielder still has a chance of playing in Sunday's World Cup final against Germany.

Di Maria is currently battling a thigh problem, which ruled him out of the semi-final triumph over the Netherlands, but Eugenio Lopez is optimistic that he could be available to Argentina manager Alejandro Sabella.

"Angel is at a stage of recovery and there cannot be a time frame put on it," Lopez told FM Delta "He was subjected to treatment with stem cells to accelerate recovery.

"Angel wants to play, no matter what, and he will make every effort to get there. Whether Angel will play will depend on the decision taken by Sabella."

Enzo Perez is likely to be selected once again if Di Maria cannot prove his fitness.
