Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has claimed that his side have been prematurely ruled out of the Premier League title race.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes and Coral are offering hefty odds of 150-1 on the Gunners, who are six points off the pace following last weekend's 6-0 mauling at the hands of leaders Chelsea and Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Swansea City.
However, Jenkinson believes that a home win over title favourites Manchester City this evening would put Arsene Wenger's men back in the mix.
"I think you've got to be realistic, but you've got to believe," he told Arsenal's official club website. "It's going to be incredibly difficult, but there's going to be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season.
"If you are a player at the highest level and you play for a club like Arsenal you can never stop believing. You're in the wrong sport and you're playing for the wrong team if you're just going to give up and think it's all over when it's not.
"Football changes so quickly. One minute you're the best thing since sliced bread and the next minute it's all going wrong. Things can change quickly, if we beat Man City on Saturday all of a sudden we're back in the title race and everything is back on track."
Arsenal have failed to score in four of their last five home matches against Man City.
