Arsene Wenger: 'Leicester City's Premier League title charge is very romantic'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger describes Leicester City's shock Premier League title bid as "very romantic".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described Leicester City's surprise Premier League title campaign as "very romantic".

Twelve months ago the Foxes were battling for survival in the top flight, but under new manager Claudio Ranieri they find themselves at the top of the table, five points above second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

This Sunday could end up being pivotal in the title race as Leicester travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal, who are third in the standings, five points adrift of top spot.

In Friday's press conference Wenger praised the Gunners' opponents, but believes that the closer the Foxes get to the title, the more pressure they will feel.

"It's very romantic of course," Wenger told reporters. "It goes against usual practice in our game. With quality work, scouting, management, you can have great results.

"I believe still they're in a position where they think where they are, they have nothing to lose, but when you're top, you can lose what you have.

"The pressure is on us as well, I don't deny that, but we take it as a positive - an opportunity to show how strong we are."

Arsenal have lost five league games this season, while Leicester have only suffered defeat twice.
