Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez will reportedly be used in the Arsenal first-team squad next season.
Martinez has been contracted to the Gunners since 2011, although the 26-year-old has only been given nine senior outings during his eight-year period at the club.
The Argentine has spent six different loan spells at other clubs, the latest coming at Reading where he made 18 appearances in the Championship.
However, according to The Mirror, Unai Emery has decided to promote Martinez into the role as deputy stopper as a result of Petr Cech's retirement.
The report suggests that Emery's desire to use his limited budget on other areas of his squad is the main reason behind more responsibility being handed to Martinez.
