A big-six Premier League club reportedly failed with a transfer bid for highly-rated Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon.
The 19-year-old is already being linked with a move to Europe despite only playing one full season for Corinthians.
In fact, this time last year, Bidon was still waiting to make his first-team debut which ultimately arrived in a Copa do Brasil game against Sao Bernardo in March 2024.
Bidon then made his Brasileiro bow in a 1-0 defeat to Red Bull Bragantino in April, before eventually establishing himself as a regular fixture in the first-team setup.
The Brazilian prospect ended the campaign with 44 competitive appearances to his name, operating primarily in the centre of the Corinthians' midfield.

Big-six Premier League club makes Bidon offer
Following his breakthrough into the senior side, Bidon was rewarded with a new contract earlier this month, extending his Corinthians deal until December 2029.
However, according to PL Brasil, a member of the Premier League big-six made an offer to sign the youngster before he signed his new contract.
The report claims that the unnamed club made contact with the player's agent over a potential move to initially put Bidon in their Under-21 side.
However, the proposal was 'immediately rejected', with the teenager set to remain a part of Ramon Diaz's side for the time being.
Corinthians also rebuffed an approach from a Russian Premier League side before negotiations reached any formal stage.

Is a European move still on the cards?
While a Corinthians departure may not be imminent, it seems to be only a matter of time before Bidon swaps the Brasileiro for one of Europe's top leagues.
Arsenal and Fulham are among the Premier League clubs that have already been linked with a move for the Corinthians midfielder.
There is also thought to be interest from the likes of AC Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona, with the latter said to have an advantage due to Deco's strong relationship with Corinthians.
Scouts from English clubs are believed to be watching Bidon in action at the South American Under-20 Championship which is currently taking place in Venezuela.
Bidon has played the full duration of Brazil's opening two matches, featuring in a heavy 6-0 defeat against Argentina before getting on the scoresheet in a 2-1 win over Bolivia.
