Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan for the 2024-25 season.

Arsenal have reportedly received an enquiry from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Aaron Ramsdale.

The 26-year-old has endured a stressful 12 months in professional football, falling down the pecking order at the Emirates for the title-chasing Gunners.

Since the arrival of David Raya in North London on loan last summer, Ramsdale has played just 11 competitive matches for Mikel Arteta's troops.

After impressing in between the sticks during the 2023-24 term, the Spaniard has now moved permanently to Arsenal for £27.5m, leaving Ramsdale's future at the club in serious doubt.

Continuing on from last campaign, the England international watched on from the bench as Raya and the Gunners beat Wolves 2-0 on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

Arsenal 'receive' Wolves enquiry for Ramsdale

According to TEAMtalk, another Premier League club have entered the race for the services of wantaway goalkeeper Ramsdale ahead of the summer deadline.

The report claims that Wolves have enquired about the availability of the 26-year-old, who is experiencing his first prolonged spell out of the team at the Emirates.

It is understood that Gary O'Neil is a huge admirer of Ramsdale and would be very keen to work with the former Sheffield United man this season.

Although the Gunners are currently preferring a permanent sale of the keeper, it is believed that Wolves are trying to secure a loan deal with a potential to purchase in the future.

The Black Country side are in the market for a new first-choice stopper amid links between Jose Sa and the riches of the Saudi Pro League.

Should Ramsdale go to Wolves?

Reports earlier this month have suggest that out-of-favour Ramsdale is metaphorically 'breaking down the door' in an attempt to leave Arsenal this summer.

The 26-year-old is desperate to get his career back on track and challenge for international caps once again, a goal that requires him to play regularly at club level.

With Arsenal making their move for Raya permanent, it is now clear that Ramsdale will need to leave North London in order to become a first-choice keeper.

Should Sa depart to the Middle East, the ex-Bournemouth stopper could reinvent himself at Molineux, where O'Neil's side will be looking to avoid relegation.
