Roma could reportedly miss out on a deal for Granit Xhaka, as the Italian outfit are not prepared to meet Arsenal's asking price for the Switzerland international.
The 28-year-old was thought to be on the verge of completing a move to Jose Mourinho's side, with the midfielder said to be willing to accept a reduced salary to push the deal through.
However, according to Il Tempo, 'everything has stopped' regarding the negotiations, as Roma have not yet met Arsenal's valuation of the experienced midfielder.
The report claims that the Gunners are refusing to sell Xhaka for under €20m (£17m), and a number of other clubs are keeping a close eye on the developments.
Xhaka was again a regular for Arsenal during the 2020-21 campaign, making 45 appearances in all competitions, but he is not thought to be in head coach Mikel Arteta's plans moving forward.
The midfielder has scored 13 times and registered 20 assists in 220 appearances for the North London club since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.
