Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has confirmed that Portugal's Yannick Djalo will join the Midlands club on trial but stressed that talk of a January move is "premature".
The Sporting Lisbon forward revealed news of the trial on his Facebook page, a move McLeish is seemingly annoyed with as he wanted the keep the deal under wraps.
"He's not arrived yet but we are going to look at him on trial," said the Glaswegian.
"Talk of signing him is very premature and I didn't really want it to be anybody's business but I know the lad put it on Facebook himself so what chance have you got?"
The Portuguese Players Union are reportedly unsure of whether Nice or Sporting own the player's registration.
Sporting refused to take him back following a failed move to the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer.
"I don't know exactly what is situation is because I don't get involved in the administration side of things but I get some players get recommended by my scouts and then they tell me 'look we can have a look at this guy'," added McLeish.
"I can't really tell you anything about him; I don't really want to divulge anything about him right now. Look him up on Google!"
Djalo has made one appearance at national level, featuring for six minutes in August last year.
