Burnley have reportedly entered advanced negotiations to sign Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker.
Recent speculation has suggested that Clarets boss Sean Dyche was keen to bolster his options at centre-back following the departure of Jason Shackell to Derby County.
According to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, 24-year-old Baker has been identified as the ideal player to fill the void, with a £2m deal now close to completion.
Baker, who has risen through the ranks at Villa Park, made 13 appearances in all competitions last term.
