Fernando Torres has said that he is looking forward to playing for boyhood club Atletico Madrid again.
The 30-year-old has returned to his former side on loan from AC Milan and could make his second debut against Real Madrid in midweek.
"I want to thank everyone who made my return possible," he told reporters. "[Diego] Simeone was very important, as he put a lot of faith in me and I hope to quickly give him what he wants on the field. I can't wait to start playing.
"There are still many things I want to win and I want to do it all here. I saw from the outside how strong this team is, the Champions of Spain, so now I aim to enjoy the experience from the inside.
"When I left seven years ago, it was necessary for me and the club. It was the most difficult decision of my career."
Torres scored 91 goals in his first spell at Atletico before leaving for Liverpool.
