Barcelona B boss Jordi Vinyals has conceded that his team 'lacked the experience required' to remain in the Segunda Division.
Barca's second team were relegated to the Segunda B on Sunday after losing 5-2 at home to Leganes.
Vinyals only took charge of the Catalan outfit in February following the dismissal of Eusebio, who left after a poor start to the season.
"We're a very confused, young team, who lack experience and strength in defence," Vinyals told reporters.
"[Barca B's relegation] is the responsibility of everyone at the club – the coaches, players and those who helped to prepare the team. We weren't able to pull off [the great escape] but could've given a little more."
Barca B will join Real Madrid Castilla in the third tier next season.
