Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that attitude had nothing to do with his side's defeat to Ajax in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
Gerardo Martino's team suffered their first loss of the Champions League campaign as they went down 2-1 to 10-man Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA.
"We did plenty of running, it was not a question of the wrong attitude or a lack of commitment - it just didn't work out," UEFA.com quotes him as saying.
"During half time there was no panic, we spoke a lot about our positioning and how we could improve it, but we still weren't able to turn the game round in the second half.
"We have no excuses - the level of performance was simply not high enough for Barcelona."
Barcelona have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League from Group H.
