Barcelona duo Philippe Coutinho and Samuel Umtiti are reportedly unwilling to sacrifice their wages with the Catalan giants 'desperate' to offload the high-earners.

Barcelona duo Samuel Umtiti and Philippe Coutinho are reportedly unwilling to sacrifice their wages in order to secure a move away from Camp Nou.

The centre-back and attacking midfielder have made just 13 La Liga appearances between them this season, and have both been linked with an exit from Catalonia, with Coutinho believed to be heading for a return to the Premier League.

AC Milan have reportedly shown an interest in Umtiti's services, while Barcelona have actively tried to terminate the Frenchman's contract, which runs until 2023.

According to Spanish reports, the Catalan giants are going to find it difficult to offload Coutinho and Umtiti, as the pair are said to be content with less gametime but on high earnings.

They are currently the top and third highest paid players in Barca's ranks, with Coutinho pocketing €22m (£18.5m) and Umtiti taking home €16m (£13.4m) each year.

In total, the Brazilian international has netted 25 times in 106 appearances for the club, and Umtiti has featured 133 times since his arrival in 2016.
