Lionel Messi is reportedly closing in on an agreement with Barcelona over a new contract.
The 32-year-old, who has scored 26 times and registered 18 assists in 34 club outings this term, will see his existing deal at Camp Nou expire at the end of next season.
According to Marca, though, talks over a renewal have already taken place and 'negotiations are progressing well' as the two parties attempt to come to an agreement.
The report claims that Messi's salary will not be increased due to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak, while the Argentina international's new deal will also include an exit clause.
The attacker's current contract includes a clause allowing him to leave Barca on a free transfer at the end of any season, and the renewal will also allegedly include an exit provision.
The South American has scored 629 goals in 721 appearances for the Spanish champions, including two goals in three outings since La Liga resumed earlier this month.
