Newcastle United will reportedly battle Barcelona for the signature of Basel forward Arthur Cabral during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for his Swiss club during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 25 times and registering eight assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.
A recent report claimed that Barcelona are lining up a mid-season move for the Brazilian, who could potentially be available for as little as €15m (£12.6m) in January, with his current deal due to expire in June 2023.
However, according to Goal, Newcastle are also firmly in the race for the centre-forward, who has netted 14 times in 14 league appearances for Basel this season.
The Magpies now have the financial power to compete for players due to their Saudi takeover, which is expected to see them spend heavily during the January window.
Cabral, also previously linked with Leeds United and West Ham United, has netted 63 times and provided 17 assists in 101 appearances for Basel since his arrival in July 2020.
