Report: Gerard Deulofeu will stay at Barcelona, not return to Everton

New Barcelona coach Luis Enrique will keep Gerard Deulofeu at the Camp Nou next season, rather than allow the 20-year-old to join Everton for a second loan spell.

Luis Enrique's appointment as Barcelona manager has apparently ended Everton's hopes of re-signing winger Gerard Deulofeu on a second season-long loan.

The 20-year-old wideman spent this season with the Toffees, where he scored three goals in 25 appearances to help them to a fifth-place Premier League finish.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is believed to be keen on bringing the talented Spaniard back for another season at Goodison Park, but Enrique wants him to stay at the Camp Nou, according to the Daily Mail.

Instead, Isaac Cuenca, Cristian Tello, Ibrahim Afellay, and maybe even Alexis Sanchez, will be offloaded to allow Deulofeu to be given first-team opportunities on the wing for the Catalan giants.

Rafinha, who spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo, will also be promoted from Barca's B team to play under Enqriue, who was confirmed as Gerardo Martino's replacement on Monday, next campaign.
