Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers concedes that his club cannot afford to sign Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has conceded that his club would not be able to afford Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho during this summer's transfer window.

The Brazil international, who has spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Bayern Munich, is widely expected to leave Camp Nou this summer in search of pastures new.

Leicester are one of a number of clubs to be credited with an interest in the former Liverpool playmaker.

However, Foxes manager Rodgers has admitted that the 27-year-old, who has a contract at Camp Nou until June 2023, is 'way out of the club's price bracket'.

"I've seen lots of speculation around young Phil, I don't think... Philippe's a wonderful player, a brilliant talent, but he would be someone who is way out of our price bracket," Rodgers told the Eamonn and the Gaffers podcast.

Coutinho has been in relatively strong form for Bayern during the current season, contributing nine goals and eight assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
