Barnsley and Brighton & Hove Albion fought to a stalemate at Oakwell this afternoon as neither side could find a breakthrough.
The first half started slowly with both sides limited to pot-shots that failed to threaten either goalkeeper.
Ashley Barnes had a couple of chances for the visitors, but he couldn't steer his efforts on target.
Brighton started creating more chances towards the end of the half, with Gary Dicker seeing his effort tipped over by David Button before the the Barnsley goalkeeper thwarted Joe Mattock's long-range strike.
Jim O'Brien forced a save from David Gonzalez with a 25-yard effort before Craig Davies volleyed an effort wide from inside the penalty area.
Barnsley almost grabbed the three points late on when John Stones got on the end of Jim O'Brien's free kick, only to head his effort wide from just six yards out.
The result means that Barnsley end the season just one place above the relegation zone, while Brighton finish tenth.
