Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has admitted that the team were not good enough as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
The Germany international spilled a shot from Raffael in the first half to send the ball over the line, and the reigning champions never recovered as Gladbach condemned Bayern to their first home defeat of the season.
Neuer has admitted that Bayern did not do enough to claim a result, which means that second-placed Wolfsburg are now 10 points behind them in the standings with eight games remaining.
"We didn't create any genuine chances. That wasn't good enough," he told Bayern's official website.
"Gladbach were very good and defended excellently. Obviously we wanted to do much better and we've missed a chance because Wolfsburg dropped points.
"But it won't darken our mood. We know what we're aiming for this season. We'll look to the future and we're optimistic."
Bayern travel to Borussia Dortmund in their next league match on April 4.
