Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean promises that the ill-health of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba will not stop his side from celebrating if they win at the Reebok Stadium.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has promised that the ill health of Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba will not stop his side celebrating if they win at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.

Rovers had offered to postpone the fixture in light of the 23-year-old being in a critical condition following his cardiac arrest at White Hart Lane last weekend.

However, following a significant improvement in Muamba's condition, Bolton decided that the game should go ahead.

Although Kean is sympathetic of what Owen Coyle and his players have been through in the past week, he is adamant that the situation will not affect his willingness to add to Wanderers' on-field woes in the Lancashire derby.

"We want to win the game. We're not going to go there and think because Fabrice has had a bad time then we will feel embarrassed about winning," Kean said.

"We've done everything as a club to offer to postpone it but now we're going to go out to try and score.

"We will be celebrating if we score but that doesn't take away from how much we respect Bolton or we respect Fabrice. It's two different issues."

A Blackburn win would open up a eight-point gap between the clubs in the Premier League table.
