Preview: Burton Albion vs. Fleetwood Town - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League One clash between Burton Albion and Fleetwood Town, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

A Burton Albion side that has recently found some form host Fleetwood Town at Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Their visitors suffered a 1-0 defeat to Barnsley on Saturday and have only picked up one victory in their last eight league games.

Match preview

Burton endured a torrid start to the season, picking up only one point in their first eight league games.

However, in their last three games they have secured six points in the league, including a 3-2 home victory against Forest Green on Saturday.

There was something special about the performance this past weekend, with Burton finding themselves 1-0 up within six minutes before being pegged back and not only a goal down but a man down in the 69th minute.

Victor Adeboyejo was having none of it, though, and inspired his side to a 3-2 win with an 82nd-minute goal and a 92nd-minute winner to complete his hat-trick and secure their second victory of the League One season.

After Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink resigned from the managerial position on September 5, assistant manager Dino Maamria announced he would be taking over, with that decision looking to have paid off so far.

Albion will be hoping that their fans are in an inspired mood as they welcome Fleetwood, with a lot of work still needing to be done after a start to the season which it looked like they would not recover from.

Fleetwood Town are the draw specialists of the League One season so far, with six draws in their opening 10 games, which has left them sitting 15th in the table - not the start new manager Scott Brown would have been hoping for.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Brown took over the side and results so far have been less than ideal, with Fleetwood only sitting three points ahead of the relegation zone, which is too close for comfort given their last campaign.

The number of draws means they may not be too far away from finding a formula that works, but goals have been an issue, with Daniel Batty leading the club's scoring charts with just two - although that has already equalled his tally for the whole of last season.

Another tie looked on the cards in their previous fixture against top-six side Barnsley before a 90th-minute winner meant heartbreak for Brown and his side, which they will be hoping to get over as they are back on the road again for this fixture.

Team News

Burton Albion will be missing Tom Hamer as he was sent off in their previous fixture, with his replacement likely to be Deji Oshilaja stepping back into the defence from midfield.

Changes would then need to be made to the midfield, with options such as Everton loanee Tyler Onyango potentially finding his way into the starting lineup.

Fleetwood only made one change to their starting 11 on the weekend, which was in the middle of their defence, with Josh Earl not in the squad, being replaced by Aristote Nsiala.

With a draw and a narrow defeat with this lineup, it is unlikely that there will be many changes to the team, with the only change potentially being Earl coming back into the starting 11.

Burton Albion possible starting lineup:
Garratt; Borthwick-Jackson, Brayford, Hughes, Oshilaja; Onyango, Taylor, Powell, Keillor-Dunn, Smith; Adeboyejo

Fleetwood Town possible starting lineup:
Lynch; Andrew, Devlin, Nsiala, Rooney; Vela, Warrington, Morton, Batty, Macadam; Muskwe

We say: Burton Albion 2-2 Fleetwood Town

With Burton Albion recently finding a hunger for goals, they will more than likely find the scoresheet in this game.

Tight games have been the order of the day for Fleetwood and there is not enough evidence to suggest that will change, which is why a draw is a likely result.
