Malky Mackay backs Fraizer Campbell for England recall

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay believes that Fraizer Campbell can force his way back into the England setup following today's 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has backed Fraizer Campbell to force his way back into the England reckoning following today's match-winning performance against Manchester City.

The 25-year-old struck twice as the Bluebirds registered their first points in Premier League football in front of a passionate crowd in the Welsh capital.

"I thought Fraizer Campbell gave their whole back four problems," PA Sport quotes Mackay as saying.

"He worked hard over the summer and I now think I have a player there who has had an England cap and, over the piece, I think could force his way back into that squad if he keeps his head down and keeps working and playing like that against top, top players."

Campbell came on as an 80th-minute substitute in a 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands in February 2012.
