Demba Ba: 'Chelsea have advantage over Paris Saint-Germain'

Demba Ba insists that Chelsea will not wilt under the pressure of PSG's strike force in the Champions League because they are used to playing quality opponents in England.

Demba Ba has hinted that the quality of the Premier League compared to Ligue 1 makes Chelsea favourites to beat Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Laurent Blanc's side appear to be coasting towards the French title, thanks partly to the exploits of 39-goal partnership Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani.

However, Senegalese forward Ba has stressed that the Blues will not wilt under the threat of PSG's strike force because they are used to coming up against testing opponents on a regular basis domestically.

He feels that Chelsea's experience in playing in big-game scenarios means that they are "more suited" to an occasion such as the first leg of their European quarter-final at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

"Of course PSG's attack is good, but we play in the Premier League," he French radio station RMC.

"When you play Manchester United, there's Rooney and Van Persie. At City, there's Aguero, Negredo and Silva. We also play Liverpool, who have two great strikers in Sturridge and Suarez. Teams like PSG, with an exceptional attack, we play five or six times a season. We're a bit more used to playing this kind of game than PSG.

"At this level of the competition, experience is very important. Whether it be the coaching or the players, we have that experience. Even if Paris are fresher, we have a very experienced team with old hands such as Eto'o and Lampard, who are used to handling this kind of game."

Ba, who revealed this week that he and his agent are already exploring possible moves away from Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window, has admitted to being a boyhood PSG fan.
