Chelsea have reportedly seeked clarification from UEFA over whether their unvaccinated players will be able to play in their Champions League last-16 tie against Lille.
The French government have confirmed that athletes will not be exempt from their vaccine requirement, with Thomas Tuchel's side set to travel to France on March 16 for their second leg against the Ligue 1 outfit.
UEFA's existing rules state that any players unable to travel due to local government laws are treated as if they have tested positive for coronavirus, but this rule is due to be reviewed next week.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are concerned that some of their players will not be granted access into France, while Lille will also have issues getting their players back into the country after the first leg at Stamford Bridge on February 22.
The report claims that UEFA could consider switching both legs to a neutral venue to avoid the limiting rules, though they are worried that will undermine the global drive to get people vaccinated.
For now, Tuchel needs to lift his side after they fell 13 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday.
