Chelsea will have to pay Manchester City £1m if Daniel Sturridge makes his full England debut against Sweden on Tuesday.
The fee was set by a Premier League tribunal when the striker moved to Stamford Bridge in 2009.
The 22-year-old is expected to partner Bobby Zamora up front for the match at Wembley Stadium.
Sturridge has scored four goals in seven Premier League games for Chelsea this season.
