Guus Hiddink: 'It's a big gap to top four'

Guus Hiddink cools talk of a top-four finish after Chelsea's victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has played down his side's chances of a top-four finish after their 1-0 win at Arsenal extended their unbeaten league run to seven games.

Diego Costa scored the goal's only game after Per Mertesacker was sent off, handing the Blues three points to send them up to 13th in the Premier League table and 14 points off fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

"If we stay unbeaten it's a positive step but it's a big gap," Hiddink told Sky Sports News. "The team knows it's a big gap but I always want to see the ambition of the team.

"Whether or not you can make fourth place the ambition must be there every game. Even when there is nothing a stake, I want to see ambition."

Chelsea face another London derby when they travel to Watford in their next league game on February 3.
