Jose Mourinho touches down in London as news gathers pace that he is close to rejoining Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has flown into London's Heathrow Airport this afternoon amid strong reports that he is about to be named the manager of Chelsea for a second time.

The 50-year-old took charge of Real Madrid for the final time yesterday afternoon following a three-year stint at the Bernabeu.

He has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge for a number of months now and Madrid president Florentino Perez fueled the speculation further earlier today when he said that the Portuguese coach was bound for the Londoners.

While there has been no official confirmation as to reason for his visit to the English capital, it is widely believed that he has arrived to hold talks with Chelsea officials with the view of signing a contract.

Mourinho won seven trophies during his three years at the Chelsea helm, which was brought to an end in 2007.
