Kevin de Bruyne's purported loan move to Anderlecht is reportedly impossible as former club Genk had a clause inserted into his Chelsea contract making him unable to sign a short-term deal with another Belgian club.
The Blues midfielder has been linked with a switch back to his homeland after struggling to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.
However, according to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad, such a move cannot happen due to the contractual restriction.
The 22-year-old is free to make a permanent switch back to Belgium.
