Liverpool have reportedly decided to up their efforts to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson by making an offer of £66.8m.
The Merseyside giants have been strongly linked with an approach for Alisson Becker, who is also said to be attracting interest from both Real Madrid and Chelsea.
However, it was suggested earlier this week that Liverpool had bid over £60m for the Brazil international, and according to Sky in Italy, that has been further increased to £66.8m.
The report claims that while Roma are yet to accept any bid for the 25-year-old, Liverpool are confident that their latest offer will be enough to wrap up a deal in the coming days.
Publicly, manager Jurgen Klopp has continued to show faith in Loris Karius - who made two mistakes in the Champions League final - but it appears that the Reds boss has opted to do everything possible to bring in Alisson as his new number one.
Liverpool already have Karius, Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward as options between the sticks but should Alisson arrive at Anfield, at least one of the trio will be allowed to leave before the start of the new campaign.
