Head coach Thomas Tuchel says that he was satisfied with Chelsea enjoying 'a calm January transfer window', suggesting there was no late bid for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
Despite being heavily linked with the France international and an array of different left wing-backs, the Blues did not make a first-team addition during the opening month of 2022.
However, Tuchel has insisted that he pleased with how the month progressed, hinting that there was little desire to get a deal for Dembele over the line at the midway point of the campaign.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Tuchel said: "I'm very satisfied because it was a calm window. To be calm is always the best thing.
"We were open to things. I did not have contact with Ousmane. There was no contact in winter, no contact between us."
Chelsea have been tipped to make a move for Dembele in the summer with the player due to depart Barcelona on a free transfer.
