Gary McSheffrey joins Scunthorpe United until end of season

Gary McSheffrey joins Scunthorpe United on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Experienced forward Gary McSheffrey has joined League Two outfit Scunthorpe United on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old moved to Chesterfield on a short-term contract at the start of the campaign, but was not offered fresh terms by Scunthorpe's League Two rivals.

However, he has now put pen to paper after impressing while on trial at Glanford Park, where he scored a hat-trick for the reserves last week.

The forward has previously represented the likes of Birmingham City, Coventry City and Leeds United during a well-travelled career.
