Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson says that forward Christian Benteke is a doubt for the trip to Bournemouth due to a groin injury.

Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke has emerged as a doubt for the trip to Bournemouth.

Despite netting just twice in the Premier League this season, Benteke remains a key part of Roy Hodgson's side as the Eagles try to remain in the top flight.

However, at his pre-match press conference, Hodgson revealed that Benteke has suffered a groin injury during training earlier this week.

Benteke - who has made 24 starts in the league during the current campaign - will be assessed on Friday before a decision is made over his fitness.

Palace currently sit two points above the relegation zone.
