Roberto Martinez calms injury concerns over Romelu Lukaku

Everton manager Roberto Martinez calms concerns over Romelu Lukaku by claiming that he was taken off against QPR because of cramp.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has played down the severity of a possible injury to Romelu Lukaku after he was taken off against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

The Belgium international left the field in the 67th minute of the Toffees' 2-1 victory over QPR at Loftus Road.

However, according to FourFourTwo, Martinez waved away suggestions of a long-term injury by revealing that Lukaku suffered with cramp due to the amount of matches that he has played in.

In contrast, Arouna Kone is due to undergo a scan after jarring his knee in the clash.
