Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's FA Cup first-round action.

Non-league Macclesfield Town pulled off the biggest shock of the FA Cup first round on Saturday with a 2-0 win at League One Swindon Town.

A Tony Diagne strike and an own goal from Louis Thompson earned the Silkmen the surprise victory at the County Ground.

There were a number of other unexpected results as Chelmsford recorded a 3-1 win against Colchester, Harrogate Town saw off Torquay United 1-0 and Hereford beat Shrewsbury 3-1.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United earned a 2-1 win away at Bristol Rovers and Chesterfield thrashed Hartlepool United 6-1.

Met Police put up a good fight against Crawley Town but were eventually undone 2-1, while 2008 champions Portsmouth went down 2-0 at home to Notts County.
