Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neil reveals that Chris Baird's withdrawal from the squad to face Holland is due to him wanting time to consider his Fulham future.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neil has revealed that defender Chris Baird is debating leaving Fulham this summer.

The former Southampton man has not been a regular in Martin Jol's side this season, with the Dutchman preferring Stephen Kelly to Baird at right-back.

The 30-year-old withdrew from the national squad for the friendly against Holland next month and O'Neil has explained that is due to Baird wanting time to considering his future at club level.

"Chris has asked for time to think over his future," said O'Neil. "He has not had a great season and may be moving on but I would hope he will be available to me after the summer."

Baird was an apparent target of West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window.
