Fulham sign Belgium international full-back Timothy Castagne from Leicester City on an initial four-year deal, with the option of a further year on top.

Fulham have signed defender Timothy Castagne from Leicester City on an initial four-year deal.

The 27-year-old arrives at Craven Cottage for an undisclosed fee and has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2027, with the option to extend that by a further 12 months.

Castagne will wear the number 21 shirt for Fulham and becomes their fourth signing of the summer, after Calvin Bassey, Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore.

The Belgian international is not expected to feature during this evening's EFL Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur, but could make his Fulham debut when they visit champions Manchester City on Saturday.

"I feel very good. It's been a long transfer window, but finally I'm here, and I'm happy to be here," Castagne told the club's official website.

"It's a big relief. I've talked to the manager and I just can't wait to start training and playing."

Vice-chairman Tony Khan added: "I'm excited to welcome Timothy Castagne to Fulham! He's a versatile and very talented defender with great experience in the Premier League and international competition for Belgium.

"I'm pleased that Timothy has committed to a four-year contract with us, and we believe that he'll be an excellent addition to Marco [Silva]'s squad!"

Castagne spent three seasons at Leicester, scoring five goals in 112 appearances and helping the club to FA Cup glory in 2021.

However, he was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Premier League last season and has not played a single minute for the Foxes so far in 2023-24.
