Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been named as the new captain of the German national team.
The 30-year-old replaces Philipp Lahm, who retired from international football after the team's triumph at the World Cup in Brazil.
Schweinsteiger has scored 23 goals in 108 appearances for Germany since making his debut in 2004.
