Getafe remain in relegation trouble after being held to a goalless draw by Espanyol at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in La Liga.

In a game of minimal chances, Diego Castro came close to firing Getafe ahead when he struck the ball towards goal from close range, but his effort was well blocked.

Ciprian Marica also had a first-half chance to give his side the lead, but his header was well saved by Kiko Casilla.

Espanyol themselves had a good opportunity to break the deadlock, with Sidnei rising highest from a corner kick, but he could not direct his effort on target.
