Emiliano Velazquez strike earns Getafe draw at Granada

Getafe fight back from 1-0 down to draw with relegation-threatened Granada.

Granada will go into the Christmas period in the La Liga relegation zone after Emiliano Velazquez's late equaliser earned Getafe a point at the Estadio Los Carmenes.

The hosts started well as Alvaro Vasquez and Fran Rico both went close to netting an early goal.

El Grana then took the lead moments before the break as Jhon Cordoba, who had an earlier effort saved, turned Youssef El Arabi's headed pass home from close range.

Granada almost added a crucial second on 64 minutes as Cordoba led a fast counter-attack before Piti shot narrowly wide.

The visitors came close to an equaliser moments later as Diego Castro fired an effort inches past the post.

However, Getafe got back on level terms as Velazquez latched on to Pedro Leon's cross before finding the top left corner.

The draw leaves Granada third from bottom in the table, while Getafe move into 12th.
