Neil Warnock has admitted that he came close to walking out on Leeds United this summer.
Warnock has become increasingly frustrated at missing out on a host of transfer targets during the close season.
The 63-year-old told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I was disappointed to lose Joel Ward to Palace earlier on in the summer, in fact at that stage I'm not sure I was going to be here.
"There were temptations and I think it might have been easier to take an offer elsewhere than stay here. My son James lives here and he pleaded with me to stay and give it a go."
Warnock has also revealed that the passionate United fans were a key factor in his decision to stick with the club.
He said: "I'll never forget the fans' support here last season. The one thing about the fans since I've been here is that they have been magnificent."
Leeds begin their quest for promotion against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 18.
