How Barcelona could line up against Liverpool

Ahead of Barcelona's Champions League semi-final first leg against Liverpool at Camp Nou, Sports Mole looks at how the Spanish champions could line up.

Barcelona remain in the hunt for a first Champions League title in four years as they take on Liverpool for a place in the final.

Wednesday's semi-final first leg at Camp Nou is nicely set up, with the two sides boasting a good run of form in all competitions.

Barca wrapped up the La Liga title with a 1-0 victory over Levante at the weekend and were able to rest some key men with this game in mind.

Ahead of the midweek clash in Catalonia, Sports Mole looks at how Ernesto Valverde may set out his side.

Out: Rafinha (knee)

Barcelona's only confirmed absentee is midfielder Rafinha, who has been absent since the end of last year with a season-ending knee injury.

Only a few places are up for grabs in Valverde's starting lineup - the left-sided midfield position, the left-sided forward spot and right-back.

Nelson Semedo played both legs against Manchester United in the last round, but he was also used for 90 minutes against Levante on Saturday so Sergi Roberto could come in.

Valverde is also expected to stick with Arthur from the last round, with Arturo Vidal offering a different type of option for the away leg, while up top it may be an emotional reunion with his former club for Philippe Coutinho.

Ousmane Dembele has been working his way back to full fitness following his latest spell on the sidelines, though this may be a match for Coutinho given that he knows the opposition better than anyone.

Alongside him is another former Reds ace in Luis Suarez, while Lionel Messi has scored 24 goals in just 32 Champions League matches against English opposition.
