Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been given a one-match ban and fined by the Football Association as punishment for his Mario-related post on Instagram.
The Italian frontman will be ordered to pay a fine of £25,000 and must also attend an education course after being charged in relation to FA rule E3(1).
"The club acknowledges the decision reached by the independent panel and due consideration will be given to the written judgement once we receive it from the FA," said a spokesperson for Liverpool.
"Any further action taken by ourselves in relation to this matter is between the club and player."
It is understood that the 24-year-old's suspension is to come into immediate effect.
