Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is "getting closer to signing a new contract" at Anfield, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 28-year-old, who has made 130 appearances for the Reds since arriving from Roma in July 2018, still has three years left to run on his current deal with Jurgen Klopp's side.
However, the Merseyside giants are believed to be keen to hand the Brazil international a fresh contract, with a pay rise to reflect his importance to the team.
According to Romano, the South American is in advanced discussions over a new deal, although it could take 'some weeks or months' before an official announcement is made.
"So Alisson is getting closer to signing a new contract with Liverpool. It will take some weeks, maybe months because of course with the timing for these kinds of things. But Alisson is getting really, really close to signing a contract with Liverpool," Romano said on his Here We Go podcast.
Alisson conceded 41 times in 42 appearances for Liverpool last season, while he scored a famous header against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on May 16.
