Bayern Munich are reportedly showing an interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, who is closing in on a move to Al-Ittihad.

Bayern Munich would reportedly be interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Fabinho if his move to Al-Ittihad falls through.

Despite having three years left to run on his contract, Fabinho is set to end his five-year association with Liverpool this summer.

A recent report claimed that he had agreed personal terms with Al-Ittihad, who are continuing their recruitment drive after signing N'Golo Kante, Jota and Karim Benzema.

The Saudi Arabian side are said to be in discussions with Liverpool over a deal after submitting a £40m bid for Fabinho.

There is an expectation that Fabinho will complete a transfer to the Saudi Pro League this summer, but there is still a possibility he could move elsewhere.

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are would be interested in bringing Fabinho to Germany and are now monitoring his situation closely.

Liverpool are hoping to finalise Fabinho's move to Saudi Arabia in the near future, but Thomas Tuchel's side are waiting in the wings if the proposed transfer falls through.

The Bayern hierarchy reportedly have a positive relationship with the player's agent Jorge Mendes, which could prove beneficial in potential negotiations.

Fabinho featured regularly for Jurgen Klopp's side last season, making a total of 49 appearances across all competitions.

Since joining the club in the summer of 2018, he has featured in 219 competitive games, chipping in with 11 goals and 10 assists.

The 29-year-old has won multiple honours during his Liverpool career, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Fabinho is set to become the latest Liverpool midfielder to leave this summer following the departures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson is also closing in on a departure after Liverpool reached an agreement over a £12m transfer to Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq.
