Liverpool reportedly rule out an exit for midfielder Thiago Alcantara amid links with a return to Barcelona.

Liverpool reportedly have no intention of letting Thiago Alcantara leave the club amid links with a return to Barcelona.

The 30-year-old arrived at Anfield with plenty of expectation last summer but has largely struggled to make his mark due to injuries.

A recent report claimed that Thiago was eyeing up a return to Barcelona, where he rose through the youth ranks before leaving for Bayern Munich in 2013.

However, AS claims that Liverpool are not prepared to let Thiago head for the exit door, in spite of Xavi's interest in his compatriot.

Thiago still has just under four years left to run on his deal with Jurgen Klopp's side and previously made a century of appearances for Barcelona before his departure.

The Spaniard boasts just one goal and one assist from 37 games for Liverpool and has only made the starting lineup on two occasions in the Premier League this term.
